I first began CrossFit in 2013. I was looking for a new gym to train at when I moved to Wilmington to attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to study Exercise Science. I had done some workouts similar to CrossFit while I was in the Marine Corps and always found it to be effective when incorporated into workouts so I stopped into a local gym and have been training at them since. Being able to incorporate movements and exercises from various backgrounds such as weightlifting, gymnastics, and powerlifting has kept me hooked on CrossFit. I completed my level 1 certification in 2014 and began instructing classes and helping others reach their fitness goals shortly after. I also have recently become CSCS certified this year as well.
