    Erika Varriale

Erika has been involved in athletics since childhood and spent the majority of her free time in high school playing club and varsity volleyball. She rowed Collegiate Crew for two years at Susquehanna University, prior to transferring to Rutgers University to finish out her degree. While living in New Jersey, Erika taught group fitness (Body Combat, Powerstrike Impact, and Body Jam) at the local health club and received her Level 3 Blue Belt in Mixed Martial Arta until she and her husband were relocated to North Carolina. Upon moving, she found and began training in CrossFit in 2012. Erika began personal programming with John Z in November 2013 in order to focus on her competitive ambitions. She volunteers with Raising Riders, a 501C3 organization dedicated to serving the Marines, Sailors, and families of Marine Special Operations Command. Her favorite CrossFit workouts are the girls, Jackie and Karen. Erika’s future goals are to increase her training levels and continue working towards competing at the highest levels she can attain.

Erika is CF-L1 and CF-L2 certified and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Science with a Minor in Marine Sciences from Rutgers University.
